Thomas Dale Indoor Track traveled to the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Kevin Gotay, senior, raced 500m at the meet. “Whenever I race, I’m usually the smallest or the slowest,” Kevin said. “I was really nervous. I started on the farthest lane and got first; I didn’t even know when I got first, out of 34 people.”

“The facility floor is slicker at Arthur Ashe and you can’t wear spikes while competing.” said Coach Price. “He had a great race for the circumstances of the floor.”

Chris Tyree is ranked #6 in the country and Tony Mayfield Jr. is ranked #5 in the state for junior hurdler. Tyrone Hayes is #3 triple jumper in the state, and he’s a Dale freshman.

“The team is like a box of puzzle pieces and we’re finding the right pieces to put the puzzle together,” Coach Price said.
