You have brains in your head.  You have brains in your shoes.  You can steer yourself any direction you choose.

Dr. Suess

Today is Read Across America Day, and Dr. Seuss’s birthday is tomorrow!  Celebrate by reading with a friend or sharing a favorite book! Learn about Dr. Seuss or check out a favorite Seuss title today in the library.  Also, be sure to visit the photo area outside the library for Seuss selfies!

AP fee collection continues today in the Commons during all lunches on Main Campus.  Order online, using your class’ google classroom. Then bring the fee to Mr. Cook during any lunch through next Thursday, March 7.

This Saturday, March 2, will be a school clean-up day from 9 – 11 a.m. Students meet at Door 2 at Main campus.

Attention Science Club Members!  Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 5th  at 3:10 in room 403 at the main campus. We will have a March Madness STEAM Challenge.

If you are a current 11th grader interested in representing Thomas Dale this summer for Girls or Boys State, please drop by the School Counseling office to pick up an application or see Mr. Winn for more information.  This is a great leadership program to add to your resume. The students who are selected for these programs will attend Girls State at Longwood University and Boys State at Radford University during the week of June 16 – 22, 2019.

Thomas Dale is once again competing in the FeedMore canned food drive with other schools in our area. We came close to winning last year, so let’s not let Matoaca and Bird beat us again.

Bring in canned foods and other non-perishable products to your first period class through the month of March to help feed our community. The AP Club will help by collecting the cans each Friday. The class with the most cans will win a donut breakfast. For further information please contact Mr. Keller in room W1.

Main Campus librarians Shelley Armstrong and Mo McCamey celebrate Read Across America Day (and Dr. Suess’ birthday). Visit the library today and take a selfie to celebrate.
